Buy or Sell?

You know that the Stock Market Crash of 1929 led to the Great Depression of the 1930s. Now, we are playing the Stock Market game in Social Studies to see what it was like for people who invested their money in the Stock Market.

What companies did you choose to invest in? Why did you choose them? Do you think you will make money?

In our game we are only using M&Ms for money, but how do you think people felt when they lost their real money in the Stock Market? How would they pay their bills or provide for their families? Share your thoughts.

5th grade students got a chance to be teachers in Social Studies! They picked from a list of topics about World War I and had to come up with a "lesson plan" and even test questions for their students!
