We've made our Freedom Quilt!

We've been learning in Social Studies about how slaves secretly communicated with each other. One cool way they did this was by making a freedom quilt. Each patch has a special meaning and when the quilt is sewn together it tells slaves how to escape on the Underground Railroad.

You all did a great job making our quilt!

Class President Elections are coming!

Next week we are going to be nominating and voting for our 5th grade Class Presidents! Are you ready?

Remember that voting is an important right that all citizens have but you also have the responsibility to vote based on who is right for the job! It's going to be an exciting week - I can't wait to see how all the candidates will campaign to get your votes!
